Deeksha
Homepage YOU
ARE INVITED TO COME TO THE NEXT DEEKSHA AND MEDITATION EVENT Held
at Crabbes Creek (map) half way
between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. For
more information phone Kaya and Netra on 02 6677 1662.
| What
is Deeksha and how is Deeksha given? Deeksha is also known as oneness
blessings. The Deeksha process was created by Amma and Bhagavan who describe it
as a direct transmission of enlightenment or of divine energy. To
receive Deeksha one prepares oneself with an hour of relaxation and meditation
then the Deeksha giver places their hands on top of the head of the recipient
for anywhere from 20 seconds to 2 minutes. The Deeksha giver does not actually
do anything to the recipient but the recipient generally becomes aware of their
heart opening to higher levels of consciousness with a feeling of happiness being
felt for 2-3 days afterwards. It is not unusual for both the Deeksha giver and
the recipient to giggle and laugh during the process. Overtime,
as your meditation deepens, you should find yourself experiencing states of authentic
happiness, peace, compassion, unbridled joy, ecstasy and a sense of oneness. At
the moment these may just be words or ideas but once they have become a part of
your life you will understand what I mean. |

| "Deeksha
has definitely sped up the evolution of my consciousness. A single Deeksha is
like compressing a month of meditation into one minute and my experience is that
it has brought about a permanent shift in consciousness." Abby Eagle |
| A
simplified description of what happens to the brain during meditation. The
right amygdala is associated with survival instincts: fight or flight, fear, anger,
rage, aggression and negative emotions. The left amygdala is associated with positive
emotions. The left hippocampus is associated with internal dialogue and negative
expectations. The right hippocampus is associated with no mind states, positive
expectations and inner vision. During meditation the right amygdala quietens down
and the left one becomes more active; and the left hippocampus quietens down and
the right one becomes more active. Also the right prefrontal lobe which is associated
with anxiety quietens down and the left prefrontal lobe which is associated with
happiness, joy, bliss, compassion and altruism becomes more active. The parietal
lobe which is associated with visuospatial processing and the distinction between
yourself and the world quietens giving you a sense of oneness. |

|
What do
scientists say about Deeksha? Deeksha has been described as triggering
a neurobiological function in the brain that lessens activity in the parietal
lobes and transfers the energy to the neo cortex, which then reorganises the entire
framework of consciousness. This description also fits that of meditation. Read
